Mr. Sahakarn stated that according to the ministerial regulation on bringing prisoners for treatment outside prison, there are 3 time frames: 30 days, 60 days and 120 days. When the 120-day period is up, it depends on the Corrections Department’s consideration, along with the doctor’s diagnosis of whether or not continuous treatment is still necessary. Although the ministerial regulation specifies a time frame of up to 120 days, if the doctor concludes that continuous treatment is still necessary, the time can be extended, without specifying when it can be extended.
